Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, has expressed confidence that President Bola Tinubu will secure a second term in 2027, saying the president already has a strong internal support base within the ruling party.

Uzodimma made the statement on Saturday during an event tied to the presidential primary activities of the All Progressives Congress in Orlu East Local Government Area of Imo State, where a large turnout of party members was recorded.

He argued that the level of participation within the party shows a strong electoral foundation for the president. “You can see 35,000 human beings in just one ward in Orlu East Local Government. It means that if only our party members vote for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, he has already won the election,” he said.

The governor linked the turnout to the party’s membership registration and validation process, which he said was conducted electronically and designed to improve grassroots inclusion.

According to him, “Membership registration took care of grassroots inclusiveness, and today it is manifesting in our democratic situation in Nigeria.”

Uzodimma also maintained that the current administration has performed strongly enough to justify continuity in office. He added that political engagement at the community level reflects growing support for the president.

“Look at what is happening in the grassroots, how the grassroots has been stimulated, starting from the membership registration, which was done electronically, to the validation of members,” he said.

He further encouraged opposition parties to strengthen their political structures ahead of future elections, while expressing confidence in the ruling party’s organisation and support base.
