The Chairman of the Federal Civil Service Commission (FCSC), Prof. Tunji Olaopa, has assured shortlisted candidates in the ongoing recruitment exercise that a Computer-Based Test (CBT) will be conducted in due course.

Olaopa gave the assurance in a statement personally signed over the weekend, following reports circulating online that the CBT stage had been cancelled and that recruitment had already been concluded.

He described the claims as false and misleading, stressing that the Commission remains committed to conducting the examination for all shortlisted candidates.

According to him, preparations for the CBT have been completed, with the only outstanding requirement being the release of resources needed to support the exercise. He said the test would be scheduled once the necessary funding is made available.

The FCSC chairman also clarified that the Commission recently conducted interviews for candidates with qualifications in science, technical and vocational subjects, mathematics, and engineering-related disciplines. He explained that the exercise was carried out in response to a request from the Federal Ministry of Education, which urgently needed teachers in those subject areas for Federal Unity Colleges.

Olaopa said the interview exercise does not affect the planned CBT for other shortlisted applicants.

He urged candidates to remain patient and await official communication from the Commission regarding the next stage of the recruitment process.
