Nigerian streamer Carter Efe has criticised social commentator VeryDarkMan, popularly known as VDM, over his decision to travel to China to source the newly released iPhone 18 for Nigerian buyers.
Carter Efe made the remarks during a livestream on Friday while reacting to VDM’s plan to purchase the devices directly from China and sell them to Nigerians.
According to Carter Efe, VDM’s move could affect the businesses of phone dealers, particularly those importing and selling iPhones in Nigeria.
“VDM no dey sell phone o but enter China, he wan go buy phone dey sell. He wan spoil people business,” he said.
Carter Efe also questioned VDM’s decision to venture into phone sales, noting that the social commentator was not previously known for dealing in mobile phones.
“First of all VDM go do wetin them go take gather am. VDM go do wetin go take make Igbo people gather am kill am for China,” Carter Efe said.
He further questioned VDM over the decision, saying, “VDM, I never see that kind person before, you be witch?”
VDM had earlier shared a video from an Apple Store in China following the launch of the iPhone 18.
In the video, he indicated that he intended to help Nigerians purchase the devices directly from China instead of buying them from local vendors at what he described as inflated prices.
The move has since generated reactions online, with Carter Efe among those questioning VDM’s decision to enter the phone business.
