The Anambra State Government has presented brand-new Sport Utility Vehicles (SUVs) to 10 judges as part of efforts to improve their welfare and strengthen the administration of justice in the state.
The vehicles were handed over at a ceremony held on Monday at the Light House in Awka, with the state government saying the initiative is aimed at enhancing the mobility of judicial officers and supporting them in the discharge of their constitutional duties.
Representing Governor Chukwuma Soludo, the Secretary to the State Government, Chiamaka Nnake, said the presentation reflects the administration's commitment to providing judges with the resources needed to perform their responsibilities effectively.
Nnake said adequate logistical support is essential for the timely administration of justice and the smooth operation of the judiciary. She added that the government remains committed to creating a conducive working environment for judicial officers.
She noted that the Soludo administration's Solution Agenda prioritises strengthening all arms of government to improve public service delivery across Anambra State. According to her, the government will continue to support the judiciary in promoting the rule of law, fairness and access to justice.
The state government said the vehicle distribution forms part of its broader development strategy, which includes investments in infrastructure, human capital development and institutional reforms aimed at building a secure, prosperous and liveable smart megacity.
It added that strengthening key institutions, including the judiciary, remains central to its efforts to promote good governance and sustainable development across Anambra State.
