American rapper Nicki Minaj has explained why she no longer attends church regularly, linking the decision to her demanding performance schedule after achieving mainstream success.
Speaking on a recent episode of The Bryce Crawford Podcast, she said the change happened shortly after her career began to accelerate, not because of a shift in belief.
“Once my career started taking off, I stopped going to church,” she said. “I was working on Friday nights and Saturday nights, so the last thing I could do was wake up on Sunday mornings to go to church.”
She noted that her absence from church is largely practical, driven by exhaustion from weekend performances that extend late into the night.
Despite this, she emphasized that her faith remains intact. According to her, the issue is not belief but consistency.
She acknowledged ongoing struggles with maintaining a steady spiritual routine but said she continues to work on it.
She added that her relationship with God has not weakened, saying her faith has continued to develop as she grows personally and professionally.
