Street-pop singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has explained why he walked out of the ring during his celebrity boxing rematch against Nollywood actor Charles Okocha.
Portable was disqualified after leaving the ring before the end of the opening round of the bout, tagged **"Unfinished Business,"** held on Friday at the Balmoral Convention Centre, Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos. The decision handed victory to Okocha.
In a video shared on his Instagram page on Saturday, the singer alleged that Okocha abandoned boxing for wrestling during the contest. He also claimed he was bitten and attacked unfairly.
Displaying marks on his body, Portable said Okocha bit him during the fight, adding that the alleged actions forced him to quit the contest.
According to him, he had already gained the upper hand before the incident and landed more punches on his opponent.
Portable also said he no longer intends to participate in celebrity boxing matches, arguing that his music career is worth more than any prize money.
"I don't fight again. I'm bigger than the money. I'm a star," he said in the video.
The rematch followed their controversial first meeting, which ended in Portable's favour. Okocha had disputed the outcome, leading to the second bout.
The opening round turned chaotic after both men became locked in a wrestling-style exchange, prompting the referee to intervene. Security personnel and bodyguards also entered the ring to restore order.
Although Portable later returned to the ring, officials ruled that he had abandoned the contest and disqualified him.
Before the fight, the singer had expressed confidence in his chances, saying he planned to finish the contest in the opening round.
The defeat ends Portable's unbeaten record against Okocha after winning their first encounter.
