Former First Lady Aisha Buhari has visited former Vice President and African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.
Atiku disclosed the visit in a post on his social media platforms on Thursday.
The former vice president used the occasion to highlight the economic difficulties facing Nigerians, citing the rising cost of food, transportation, education, healthcare and other basic necessities.
“Today, I was delighted to receive former First Lady, Aisha Buhari. Her visit was warm and deeply appreciated,” Atiku wrote.
He said the visit underscored the responsibility of those seeking to improve the country to prioritise the welfare and dignity of Nigerians.
“Across our country, families are being stretched by the rising cost of food, transport, education, healthcare and other basic necessities,” he said.
Atiku said Nigerians deserved an economy that rewards hard work, creates opportunities and enables families to live with dignity.
He added that he was committed to easing the economic burden on citizens and restoring hope under his campaign promise to “Make Nigeria Affordable Again.”
Aisha, who is a supporter of President Bola Tinubu, was accompanied by one of her daughters and some associates during the visit.
The purpose of the meeting was not immediately clear as of the time of filing this report.
