Ayuba Muhammad, a former Local Government Executive Committee (EXCO) member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kaduna State, has reportedly been killed after spending more than two months in bandits' captivity.

The report was shared on Friday by security analyst Bakatsine in a post on X.

According to Bakatsine, news of Muhammad's death emerged on Thursday, weeks after he was abducted by suspected bandits.

Muhammad was also identified as a member of the Zailaniyya Ambassador group and was described as someone who contributed to community development in Kaduna State.

"Yesterday, reports emerged that Ayuba Muhammad, a former APC LGA EXCO in Kaduna State, was killed by bandits after spending more than two months in captivity following his abduction," Bakatsine wrote.

He added that Muhammad was remembered by many for his service to his community and extended condolences to his family, friends and others affected by the loss.

Bakatsine also expressed concern over the persistent insecurity in parts of the country, questioning how long communities would continue to endure deadly bandit attacks.

Authorities have not issued an official statement on the reported killing as of the time of filing this report.
