Controversial Nigerian crossdresser, Bobrisky, has revealed that she continues to undergo HIV testing every six months, despite saying she has not been sexually active for years.

Bobrisky, born Idris Okuneye, shared the disclosure in a post on her Instagram Story on Monday, explaining that regular testing remains part of her approach to protecting her health.

“I’m so weird. Every six months, I still go for an HIV test — even though I haven’t been with anyone in years,” she wrote.

She said the routine gives her reassurance and reflects her belief in preventive healthcare.

“God knows I just don’t like taking chances or relying on medication. Prevention and peace of mind will always win,” she added.

The post quickly attracted reactions across social media, with users commenting on her decision to continue routine HIV screening despite her claim of long-term abstinence.

Bobrisky has remained one of Nigeria's most talked-about social media personalities, with her public statements and lifestyle frequently generating debate.

In a previous interview in 2021, she explained why she chose to live as a woman, saying the decision changed the trajectory of her life.

“When I was a guy, I didn’t have anything. I was just there hustling. Nobody wants to talk to you or associate with you because you don’t have money,” she said.

She added:

“You only get orders to do this or that like you’re a servant. But I feel like I’m not in for that; I want to be a boss of my own, so let me just use what I have to get what I want.”
