Nollywood actor and lawyer Kenneth Okonkwo has been appointed spokesperson to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar for the 2027 presidential campaign under the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

The appointment was conveyed in a letter signed by Atiku, who said Okonkwo was chosen based on his competence, integrity, communication skills and political judgment.

"I am pleased to offer you an appointment as my Spokesperson for the 2027 General Elections in Nigeria,"* Atiku wrote, adding that he looked forward to Okonkwo's contribution to the campaign.

Accepting the appointment, Okonkwo thanked Atiku for the confidence reposed in him.

"I give God all the glory to be appointed by His Excellency Atiku Abubakar as his Spokesperson. I thank HE AA for the immense confidence reposed in me," he said.

Okonkwo said his discussions with Atiku and ADC leaders addressed the interests of the South-East, while describing the former vice president as a leader who embraces dialogue and compromise.

He also thanked Dr. Kashim Imam, former ADC National Chairman Ralphs Nwosu, Dr. Ekene Onwuka, his family, friends and supporters for their roles in his political journey.
