Police in Ondo State have arrested a 38-year-old man over the death of his father following a violent confrontation in Akure South Local Government Area.
The suspect, Kingsley Nsikak, is alleged to have attacked his 65-year-old father, Peter Adone, during an argument at their home in the Oda area. The dispute reportedly escalated into physical violence.
Medical personnel attempted to save Adone after he sustained serious injuries, but he was later confirmed dead.
Police spokesperson, Abayomi Jimoh, said the case was reported to authorities by Daniel Moses, a relative of the deceased and brother to the suspect. Acting on the report, detectives moved in and arrested Nsikak for questioning.
Jimoh said the incident occurred on 28 May 2026 and has drawn concern within the community. He added that the body has been taken to the morgue, while investigations are ongoing.
According to the police, the suspect will be charged in court after the conclusion of inquiries.
