The Nigerian Air Force says it carried out coordinated air operations on Tuesday targeting insurgent locations and supply points around the Sambisa Forest axis in Borno State.

According to a statement from Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, Director of Public Relations and Information, the mission was based on intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance findings that identified active hideouts in the Biramiri area of Gezuwa.

The air operation, conducted on May 26, 2026, focused on selected structures used for shelter and logistics support by armed groups. Military sources said the targets were engaged with precision-guided strikes.

Following the attack, several of the affected structures were destroyed, with reports indicating casualties among insurgent fighters. The operation also disrupted activity in the area, which has long served as a movement corridor for armed groups.

The Air Force noted that the pattern of sustained aerial activity has limited the ability of the groups to move freely or maintain stable positions within the forest environment.

Security officials added that pressure from continued air and ground coordination under Operation Hadin Kai is aimed at restricting operational space for insurgent networks across the North-East.

The Air Force restated its commitment to ongoing operations designed to support wider counter-insurgency efforts and reduce threats to communities in the region.
