Nigeria’s total available electricity generation reached 5,403.3 megawatts (MW) on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, according to the Daily Load Allocation Table issued by the National Control Centre (NCC).
Of the available generation, 4,379.07MW was delivered to electricity distribution companies (DisCos) across the country.
Abuja DisCo received the largest allocation at 700MW, representing 15.20 per cent of its NERC-approved percentage. Ikeja DisCo followed with 581MW (15.01 per cent), while Ibadan DisCo received 550MW (11.93 per cent) and Benin DisCo received 531MW (8.04 per cent).
The other DisCos received allocations as follows:
Eko DisCo: 519MW
Enugu DisCo: 512MW
Port Harcourt DisCo: 466MW
Kano DisCo: 161MW
Kaduna DisCo: 155MW
Jos DisCo: 134MW
Yola DisCo: 70MW
The NCC report also listed 1,024.18MW as exempted loads. This included 108.07MW for power stations and auxiliary consumption and 367.87MW for transmission losses and substation services.
The exempted category also covered bilateral and international electricity supplies, including power allocated to Niger Republic and local industrial consumers.
The latest generation figure comes amid efforts by the Federal Government to improve electricity supply nationwide.
Minister of Power Joseph Tegbe previously attributed the improvement in supply to the restoration of the 375MW Alaoji Power Plant, which had been out of operation for three years, alongside other measures by the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu
