A security guard is alleged to have abducted two children belonging to his employer in Minna, Niger State.
The incident was confirmed by the children’s father, businessman Alhaji Danjuma, who lives in the Brighter Area of Minna. He said the case was reported on Monday, June 1, 2026.
According to him, he was away from home on Sunday when the guard reportedly left with the children on a motorcycle he had previously purchased for him. The guard allegedly told the household he was taking them out to mark the Eid celebrations.
When the children failed to return by evening, the family began searching for them. Their search included visits to several hospitals in Minna out of concern that they may have been involved in an accident.
The situation later took a different turn when it was discovered that the children were allegedly being held by kidnappers.
Alhaji Danjuma said he later received a phone call from individuals who claimed to be calling from the Erena forest area in Shiroro Local Government Area. The callers reportedly informed him that the children were in their custody and demanded payment for their release.
He has appealed for public prayers as efforts continue toward securing the children’s safe return.
