Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele has assured President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of 10 million votes from the Southwest ahead of the next presidential election.

Bamidele also said Tinubu’s emergence as the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) would strengthen ongoing economic reforms and position the country for growth.

In a statement issued through his Media and Public Affairs Directorate, the Senate Leader described Tinubu’s leadership over the past three years as decisive and focused on economic transformation.

Tinubu won the APC presidential primary held on Saturday with 10.99 million votes, defeating his only challenger, Stanley Osifo, who polled 16,503 votes.

Reacting to the outcome, Bamidele said the result reflected the confidence of party members in the President’s leadership and reform agenda.

“I am confident that your candidacy will help strengthen ongoing reforms across all sectors and further position Nigeria for prosperity. Your track record shows you are committed to change,” he said.

Bamidele noted that Tinubu assumed office during a difficult economic period and took tough policy decisions aimed at stabilising the economy and securing long-term growth.

According to him, the President confronted economic challenges directly and initiated reforms that are beginning to yield results across the country.

He added that states are no longer relying on borrowing to meet salary obligations, describing the development as evidence of improving economic stability.
