Former Chairman of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission, Sam Amadi, has accused some leaders of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) of exploiting politicians seeking elective positions ahead of the 2027 elections.
Amadi made the allegation on Wednesday in a post on X while reacting to the clearance of the party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, and former Bayelsa State Governor, Seriake Dickson.
While congratulating both politicians, Amadi said the opposition party still faces internal leadership challenges that could weaken its credibility as a platform for political change.
According to him, some individuals within the party leadership are acting in ways similar to politicians in parties that Nigerians have lost confidence in.
“Congrats to @PeterObi and Seriaki Dickson, two great leaders. But NDC has a lot of terrible people in leadership that will not make it a great vehicle of change,” he wrote.
He further alleged that some party leaders were taking advantage of aspirants for personal gain.
“These corrupt guys are just exploiting aspirants and behaving no different from rotten leaders of the discredited parties,” Amadi added.
He urged the party leadership to reform if it hopes to gain wider public trust ahead of the 2027 general elections.
