Chief Daniel Osi Orbih, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has died.
The Orbih family announced his death in a statement issued on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, saying he passed away on Monday, August 31.
The statement, signed by Francis Udukhomoi Orbih, Esq., on behalf of the family, said the announcement was made with “profound sadness and a heavy heart” and in submission to the will of God.
Orbih, a prominent figure in the PDP and an ally of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, was survived by his wife, Mrs. Florence Orbih; his children, Ms. Winifred Anwosiobor Orbih and Dr. Mildred Omonemi Orbih; as well as his brothers, sisters and other members of the extended family.
The family described his death as a painful loss and appealed to relatives, friends, associates and well-wishers to remember them in their prayers.
“Further details, including funeral arrangements, will be announced in due course,” the statement said.
Orbih was a longstanding figure in Nigerian politics and was known for his involvement in the PDP.
The family did not disclose the cause of death.
