Peter Ameh has resigned as Director-General of the OK Movement, barely one month after his appointment.

Ameh announced his resignation on Tuesday in Abuja, saying it took immediate effect.

In his resignation letter, he said he was stepping down to concentrate on his campaign for the Kogi East Senatorial District ahead of the 2027 elections.

“I hereby formally tender my resignation as Director-General of the OK Movement, effective immediately,” Ameh stated.

He said the decision would allow him to devote more time and energy to his campaign as the senatorial candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) for Kogi East.

Ameh, however, reaffirmed his support for Peter Obi, the NDC presidential candidate, whom he described as his leader.

The OK Movement is a support group for Obi and his running mate, Rabi’u Kwankwaso.

Ameh’s resignation comes about a month after he was appointed to lead the group.
