An interior decorator, identified as 30-year-old Esohe Aigbe, has been killed after attending a burial ceremony where she had volunteered to handle decoration work free of charge in Benin City, Edo State.

The incident reportedly occurred at a funeral venue on Ujo Street in the Ogida area of the city.

According to family accounts, Aigbe had gone to assist a friend with decorating the venue as her contribution to the burial arrangement. After completing the work, she remained at the location when she was attacked by unidentified individuals.

She sustained severe injuries in the attack and was rushed to the University of Benin Teaching Hospital, where she later died.

Her body has since been deposited in a mortuary.

Family members are calling on security agencies to investigate the circumstances surrounding the attack and ensure those responsible are identified and prosecuted.

As of the time of this report, no arrests have been made, and the motive behind the killing remains unclear.
