The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has released two supporters of Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate Peter Obi after questioning them at its office.
The supporters, Randy Peter and Precious Oruche, popularly known as Mama Pee, were released on Wednesday night after spending several hours with officials of the anti-graft agency.
Their detention had sparked concerns on social media, with supporters and associates seeking information about their whereabouts.
Activist Justice Cracks, who confirmed their release in a statement shared online, said he accompanied the two supporters to the EFCC headquarters on Tuesday afternoon after they received an invitation from the commission.
He said the engagement with EFCC officials lasted several hours before the two activists were allowed to leave.
“My dear brother, Randy Peter, and my sister, Mama Pee, were invited by the EFCC. I personally accompanied them there on the afternoon of July 15, 2026, at about 1:00 p.m. It was a very long day,” Cracks said.
According to him, the two were released around midnight, after spending about 11 hours at the commission’s office.
He added that they were asked to return to the EFCC office on Thursday, July 16, 2026.
“For now, everything is fine,” he said.
