President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, has praised the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, saying only his critics would fail to acknowledge the transformation taking place in Abuja.

Akpabio made the remarks on Friday while representing President Bola Tinubu at the commissioning of the Arterial Road N16–Ring Road III Interchange, which connects Jahi District to Gwarimpa District in the FCT.

The project is among several infrastructure initiatives scheduled for inauguration as part of activities marking President Tinubu's third year in office.

Speaking at the event, Akpabio commended Wike's performance, describing him as a "performing minister" and a "game changer."

"Only your enemies will not see what you are doing. No matter how hard you work, they will not acknowledge it," Akpabio said.

He also praised Wike's record as the former governor of Rivers State, saying the minister had continued to deliver impressive results in his current role.

"I don't know whether to say you performed better as governor of Rivers State or now as Minister of the FCT," he said.

According to the Senate President, Wike has significantly improved both infrastructure and governance in the FCT. He noted that the administration now has permanent secretaries and a Head of Service—positions he said were absent under previous administrations.

Akpabio added that the reforms have also created better career opportunities for civil servants in the FCT, allowing staff to advance beyond the rank of director.

He expressed confidence that Wike would continue to receive divine guidance as he carries out his responsibilities.
