The United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has added 10 Nigerians to its register of foreign nationals accused of criminal offences as the Donald Trump administration continues its mass deportation programme.
The names and photographs were published on the website of the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS). The department said the register focuses on individuals it describes as serious criminal offenders and people in the US illegally.
The 10 Nigerians and the allegations listed against them are:
1. Temitope Bashiru — Fraud by wire, identity theft and fraud.
2. Ojehoro Lewis — Cruelty toward a child.
3. Osemudiamen Kingsley Oziegbe — Fraud by wire.
4. Daniel Oworen — Dangerous drugs.
5. Raymond H. Ekevwo and— Fraud by wire.
6. Franklin Dikeocha — Sexual offence against a child involving fondling.
7. Johnson Ogunlana — Fraud and identity theft.
8. Chukwuemeka Okorocha — Fraud by wire, dangerous drugs, possession of a weapon and aggravated assault.
9. Tunde Korede — Conspiracy.
10. Chukwuemeka Chineye — Fraud involving a banking-type institution, larceny, identity theft and conspiracy.
The US authorities did not disclose when the individuals would be deported. Inclusion on the ICE register reflects allegations or immigration enforcement actions and does not by itself establish guilt. ([The Sun Nigeria][2])
The register is updated regularly and contains nationals from several countries. Reports said 79 Nigerians were listed in February, while the number rose to 124 by July.
