Nigerian afro-house singer Niniola Apata has announced the death of her husband, Michael Ndika.

The news was shared on Wednesday through a series of posts on her Instagram account, where she expressed grief in brief but emotional statements.

Ndika, who served as Chief Executive Officer of NaijaReview, a multimedia platform focused on afro-house and contemporary African music, was described in connection with his work in the entertainment space.

In one of her posts, Niniola wrote, “God took him,” while another confirmed the loss directly: “My husband died.”

She also reflected on the length of their relationship, adding, “God took him. 13 years. 13 f***ing years.”

No official details have been released regarding the circumstances surrounding his death.

Niniola has largely kept her personal life away from public attention despite her prominence in the music industry.

She first gained widespread recognition after finishing as runner-up in the 2013 edition of Project Fame West Africa. Her international breakthrough came in 2017 with the hit single *Maradona*, which earned attention from global music figures including DJ Snake, Drake, Timbaland, and Beyoncé.
