The National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) is meeting with senior party leaders in Abuja to formally unveil Vice President Kashim Shettima as President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's running mate for the 2027 presidential election.
The meeting is taking place at the Continental Hotel on Friday, where the party is expected to make the announcement official.
The move follows months of speculation over the composition of the APC's 2027 presidential ticket. Reports had suggested President Tinubu was considering replacing Shettima with a northern Christian as his vice-presidential candidate.
However, senior APC officials at the venue confirmed that Tinubu has retained Shettima as his running mate. According to party sources, the official presentation is expected to take place before the end of the meeting.
