A Federal High Court in Abuja has nullified the leadership of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) caretaker committee led by David Mark, declaring the committee illegal.
The judgment, delivered on Thursday, November 5, 2026, by Justice Peter Lifu, upheld the position of Nafiu Bala Gombe, a former Deputy National Chairman (North-East) of the party.
The court ruled that the Mark-led caretaker committee lacked the legal authority to lead the party and subsequently invalidated all decisions taken by the committee.
Among the decisions affected is the nomination of former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar as the ADC’s presidential candidate for the 2027 general election.
