A 27-year-old man, identified as Ali Haruna, has confessed to allegedly killing and beheading a woman identified as Aisha at a hotel in Girei Local Government Area of Adamawa State.
Haruna, a native of Kaleri in Maiduguri, Borno State, was arrested by the Adamawa State Police Command last Friday in connection with the incident at a hotel in Girei town, on the outskirts of Yola.
The suspect, who reportedly lives in Digno community, Fufore Local Government Area, made the confession while speaking with SaharaReporters at the police command headquarters in Yola on Monday.
According to Haruna, he met Aisha for the first time at the hotel, where they allegedly smoked Indian hemp and had sexual intercourse before the incident occurred.
He admitted to killing the woman and drinking her blood afterward.
The spokesperson for the Adamawa State Police Command, SP Suleiman Nguroje, confirmed Haruna’s arrest and said the suspect remains in police custody as investigations continue.
Nguroje said the suspect would be charged to court after the completion of the investigation.
