Nigerian comedian and actor, Julius Agwu, has revealed that he experienced sexual dysfunction after undergoing brain surgery in the United States in 2015.

Agwu made the disclosure during a recent episode of the Beer Parlour Talk Show, which was uploaded on Saturday. He was discussing the long-term effects of his health ordeal on his body, career and personal life.

During the conversation, the host asked whether his brain condition or the surgery had affected other parts of his body, including his sexual function.

Agwu responded in Pidgin English, saying, “After I do am, prick no dey work again now. He no dey work.”

Other guests on the programme subsequently discussed the connection between the brain and the nerves involved in the procedure, as they sought to explain the effect Agwu described.

Agwu underwent the surgery in 2015 after doctors discovered three tumours in his brain. One of the tumours was reportedly about the size of a golf ball.

The comedian has previously spoken publicly about his health battle and the impact it had on his career and personal life.

During the latest programme, Agwu also reflected on his contribution to Nigerian comedy, particularly his role in developing music comedy.

“Music comedy na me form am o, that is to tell you how my brain dey work,” he said.

The comedian became emotional while discussing his career and his experiences following his illness. He also spoke about feeling abandoned by some of his friends during the difficult period.

“God wey I dey serve, anybody wey get hand for wetin happen to me. I go dey look. My friends deserted me. They stopped talking to me, many of them. It is well,” he said.

Agwu remains one of Nigeria’s recognised comedians and actors, known for combining music with comedy and for his work in Nollywood.
