A 33-year-old Nigerian man, Olusegun Onidare, has been arrested and charged in connection with the alleged sexual assault of two females in separate incidents in Brampton, Ontario, Canada.
The Peel Regional Police said the incidents occurred on Monday, August 31, after two females reported being sexually assaulted by a man whose identity was initially unknown.
According to police, the first incident occurred at a mall in the area of Dixie Road and Clark Boulevard. A woman in her 20s was reportedly shopping when the suspect approached and allegedly sexually assaulted her.
Later the same day, police said, a female under the age of 18 was waiting at a transit terminal near Central Park Drive and Queen Street East when the suspect allegedly approached her and engaged her in conversation before sexually assaulting her.
Police subsequently issued a public appeal to identify the suspect.
A member of the public later recognized the man from the police appeal and contacted investigators, leading to Onidare's arrest.
Police identified him as a 33-year-old man with no fixed address. He has been charged with two counts of sexual assault and one count of breach of a probation order.
Onidare remains in custody pending a bail hearing.
The allegations have not been proven in court.
