Seyi Tinubu has reacted to Cubana Chief Priest’s defeat in the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election for the Orsu/Orlu/Oru East federal constituency ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Cubana Chief Priest, born Pascal Okechukwu, lost the party’s House of Representatives ticket to Canice Moore Nwachukwu, the incumbent lawmaker representing the constituency.
Following the outcome of the primary, Seyi Tinubu shared a message of support for the socialite through an Instagram story, encouraging him to remain focused despite the setback.
“Bro, sometimes by losing a battle, you find a new way to win the war,” Seyi wrote, adding, “We know what you are capable of achieving.”
Cubana Chief Priest announced his intention to contest for the seat in April 2026 after purchasing the APC expression of interest and nomination forms.
Before entering the race, he served as an aide to Hope Uzodinma. During a meeting with party aspirants on Thursday, the governor reportedly declined to endorse any candidate, instead urging them to test their popularity with party members.
The socialite has remained publicly aligned with the APC and the administration of President Bola Tinubu. He also serves as the Imo director of the City Boy Movement, a political support group backing Tinubu’s re-election campaign.
