Benue Links Nigeria Limited has appealed to the public for assistance in identifying and locating the relatives of a passenger who died while travelling on one of its buses from Makurdi to Ihugh in Benue State.

The passenger, identified only as Mr Timothy, reportedly died on Tuesday while the vehicle was approaching Ihugh in Vandeikya Local Government Area.

In a statement issued by the management of the company's Ihugh-Vandeikya Branch, Benue Links said the deceased boarded the bus in Makurdi and was travelling to Korinya, according to details provided in the passenger manifest before departure.

The company clarified that the death was not connected to any road traffic accident, stressing that the bus was not involved in a collision or any other incident during the journey.

Following the incident, the remains of the passenger were deposited at a mortuary in Ihugh pending identification and further arrangements.

Benue Links called on anyone who may know the deceased or his family members to contact the management of its Ihugh-Vandeikya Branch to assist with identification and notification of next of kin.

The company did not disclose the cause of death, and no further details have been released regarding the circumstances surrounding the incident.
