The Presidency has taken a swipe at former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi following his recent interview appearance, with presidential aide Daniel Bwala questioning his performance.

Bwala, who serves as Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Media and Policy Communication, made the remarks on Wednesday in a post on his verified X account while reacting to Obi's interview with broadcaster Oseni Rufai.

Mocking the former Anambra State governor, Bwala wrote: “This is the bold vision of Peter Obi as expressed by himself on a podcast interview.”

He further criticised Obi's outing, saying: “Have you taken your time to listen to his interview on a platform of his own unofficial spokesman? Even with the leading questions the guy no fit perform.”

The presidential aide's comments followed Obi's response to questions on how he would address Nigeria's electricity challenges if elected president.

During the interview, Obi declined to publicly disclose specific plans on tackling the country's poor power supply, a position that drew criticism from the Presidency.

Obi, however, stated that his approach to Nigeria's security and political challenges would include dialogue and engagement with agitators across different regions of the country.

The exchange marks the latest in a series of public disagreements between supporters of the Tinubu administration and the former presidential candidate.
