A woman who attended the ongoing Redeemed Christian Church of God convention at Redemption City, Ogun State, has recounted how a request she made jokingly during Pastor Enoch Adeboye’s 83rd birthday celebration later became a testimony after she gave birth to triplets.

The woman, who identified herself as a worshipper from Region 12 of the church, shared the account during the Friday Holy Ghost Service at the convention.

She said the request was made last year when members were encouraged to ask God for their desires as part of activities marking Adeboye’s 83rd birthday.

According to her, she asked for triplets because she wanted the number three in Adeboye’s age to feature in her own testimony.

“Last year when Daddy GO, Pastor Adeboye, was celebrating his 83rd birthday, they asked us to request from God whatever we wanted.

“So I jokingly said, ‘Daddy GO is celebrating 83 years, so I want the three on it.’ I asked God for triplets,” she said.

The woman said she later became pregnant and an initial scan indicated that she was carrying two babies.

She, however, said another scan conducted after seven months showed three babies. She added that she underwent four different scans because she initially found the result difficult to believe.

“When I got pregnant, I did a scan and it showed two. After seven months, it showed three. I did not believe it, so I did four different scans,” she said.

She also recounted complications after delivery, saying one of the babies began bleeding from the mouth and nose.

According to her, the development frightened her, prompting her to pray for the child’s survival.

“Then I said, ‘God of Adeboye, this was not what I requested for. It was just a joke,’” she said.

She said she took off her scarf and prayed over the child, adding that she later made a vow to return to the church with the children if all three survived.

“I vowed not to worship God if one of those triplets died, but if they survived, I would bring them to the altar for testimony,” she said.

The woman subsequently brought the three children before the congregation and identified them as Destiny, Desmond and Diamond.

She described their birth and survival as the fulfilment of the request she had made during Adeboye’s 83rd birthday celebration.

Her account was among the testimonies shared during the Friday Holy Ghost Service at the ongoing RCCG convention, which is drawing worshippers from across Nigeria and other countries.
