The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has fixed September 19, 2026, for the conduct of five by-elections across four states.
The elections will be held in one federal constituency and four state constituencies in Gombe, Kano, Bauchi and Delta states.
INEC Chairman’s Chief Press Secretary, Tunde Oketola, disclosed the date in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja on Tuesday.
According to Oketola, the federal constituency election will take place in the Gombe/Kwami/Funakaye Federal Constituency in Gombe State.
The state constituency by-elections will be conducted in Disina and Sakwa constituencies in Bauchi State, Udu Constituency in Delta State, and Dawakin Kudu Constituency in Kano State.
The by-elections are expected to fill vacancies in the affected constituencies.
