A young man has been arrested for allegedly killing his girlfriend in Edjeba Community, Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State.

The incident reportedly occurred in the early hours of Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at the suspect's residence on Ajidi Street in Edjeba.

According to reports, the couple had been in a relationship for some time, and the woman was said to be a regular visitor to the man's apartment.

Residents said the landlord heard screams coming from the apartment and alerted security operatives, who responded to the scene.

Police reportedly found the woman dead inside the apartment with severe injuries. Her body was evacuated and deposited in a mortuary.

The suspect was arrested at the scene and taken into custody for questioning.

Confirming the incident, Delta State Police Command spokesperson, CSP Bright Edafe, said investigations are ongoing.

"It’s confirmed. As for the claim that he is involved in internet fraud, I am not aware of that," Edafe said.
