Nollywood actress Omeche Oko has been hospitalised after sustaining injuries in a motorbike accident while filming a movie in Lagos.
The incident occurred three days before the actress' birthday. Oko shared a video of the accident on her Instagram page on Wednesday, showing the moment the crash happened during a scene.
In the footage, Oko was riding on a motorbike with fellow actor Victory Michael when the bike crashed into a pole on the filming location. Michael reportedly struck his chest against the pole and briefly lost consciousness, while Oko suffered a broken leg.
Crew members and colleagues at the location rushed both actors to a medical facility, where they received treatment.
Reacting to the incident, Oko said she was grateful to have survived the crash and reflected on the risks actors sometimes face while working.
"Life is very, very fragile. It could have been a different story, but God said no. If you see an actor today, give them a hug. We take a lot of risks for the craft. All I can say is thank you, God," she wrote.
Several Nollywood stars, including Mofe Duncan, Chinenye Nnebe, Chizzy Alichi Mbah, Nkechi Blessing Sunday, Nosa Rex, Chidi Dike, Toni Tones Aladese, Doris Ifeka, Onyi Alex, and producers Uche Nancy and Toyosi Etim Effiong, took to the comments section to wish the actress a speedy recovery.
