The Oyo State Government has imposed a restriction on motorcycle operations between 10:30 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. as part of measures aimed at addressing rising security concerns across the state.

Governor Seyi Makinde announced the directive on Friday through an executive order, linking the decision to ongoing efforts to secure the release of abducted teachers and schoolchildren.

He said the government remains focused on ensuring the safe return of the victims and will continue security operations until they are freed. According to him, each day of their captivity adds to the burden on affected families and residents across the state.

Makinde noted that security agencies are actively engaged in operations, adding that not all actions can be made public due to operational sensitivity. He urged residents to interpret limited public communication as caution rather than inaction.

He also emphasized that those abducted remain a priority for his administration and said efforts to secure their release are continuing without interruption.
