The Ogun State Police Command has been commended for rescuing 18 National Youth Service Corps members who were stranded after their vehicle broke down in a location known for kidnapping and other criminal activities.

The commendation came from the General Manager of Fresh FM Lagos, Taiwo Akinsola, popularly known as Omobabaolowo Woli ni Ilasamaja, in a letter addressed to the Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Bode Ojajuni.

The letter, released to journalists on Monday by the command's spokesperson, CSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, stated that the incident occurred on June 30 when the corps members became stranded at night after their vehicle developed a mechanical fault.

According to Akinsola, the corps members contacted the police after finding themselves in a vulnerable situation.

He said officers of the Ogun State Police Command responded promptly, secured the area and evacuated all 18 corps members to Ijebu Ode, where they were provided accommodation in a hotel.

Akinsola said the swift response prevented what could have become a major security incident and commended the officers for their professionalism and commitment to protecting lives.

He also praised the Divisional Police Officer and the patrol team involved in the operation, noting that their prompt action reinforced public confidence in the police's ability to respond to emergencies.

The Fresh FM Lagos boss further wished the officers safety and strength as they continue to carry out their responsibilities across Ogun State.
