The visit followed the party's stakeholders' meeting in Abuja, where the APC officially unveiled the Tinubu-Shettima ticket for the next general election.
Shettima's meeting with the president was to express appreciation for his retention on the party's presidential ticket, bringing an end to weeks of speculation over whether the APC would nominate a different vice-presidential candidate.
With the decision, the ruling party will head into the 2027 presidential election with the same ticket that won the 2023 election.
Earlier on Friday, President Tinubu submitted his presidential nomination form to the APC National Working Committee (NWC), formally entering the race for the party's ticket.
The president's Special Adviser on Public Communications and Orientation, Sunday Dare, announced the development in a post on X, stating that Tinubu emerged as the APC's sole presidential candidate and would again run alongside Shettima.
Tinubu and Shettima's nomination forms were presented to APC National Chairman Nentawe Yilwatda by the President's Special Adviser on Political and Other Matters, Ibrahim Masari, during a ceremony at the Continental Hotel in Abuja.
The event was attended by Imo State Governor and Chairman of the Progressive Governors' Forum, Hope Uzodimma, APC governors, members of the party's National Working Committee, the APC caucus in the National Assembly, members of the Federal Executive Council, and other party leaders and stakeholders.
