President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has described Governor Ademola Adeleke’s re-election in the Osun State governorship election as “a fitting assurance that democracy will continue to flourish” in Nigeria.
Tinubu, in a statement issued on Sunday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, said he had called Adeleke to congratulate him on his victory.
According to the President, the result confirmed the confidence of Osun voters in Adeleke’s leadership.
He urged the governor to use his renewed mandate to unite the people of Osun State and focus on growth, stability, and social and economic development, regardless of their political choices during the election.
Tinubu also commended the other contestants for their participation, saying their involvement strengthened Nigeria’s democratic culture.
“The outcome of the election reflects the will of the people and is a fitting assurance that democracy will continue to flourish in our land,” the President said.
He praised the Independent National Electoral Commission and security agencies for conducting what he described as a peaceful and transparent election that produced a clear winner.
Tinubu wished Adeleke success as he prepares to lead Osun State for another four years.
