Several suspected bandits have been killed during a security operation in Keta community, Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
The operation was carried out by operatives of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), who reportedly engaged armed men linked to notorious bandit commanders operating in the area.
Security analyst Bakatsine disclosed details of the operation in a post shared on X on Tuesday.
According to the report, the armed group had been involved in attacks on residents, destruction of farmlands, and looting of property across communities in the area.
During the clearance operation, CJTF operatives reportedly neutralised several fighters loyal to bandit commanders identified as Kachalla Juli, Uti, and Ibrahim.
In a separate development, two suspected bandit leaders were reportedly killed during a violent clash between rival gangs in Tsarika village, Musawa Local Government Area of Katsina State.
Bakatsine said the confrontation involved rival factions operating within the area and resulted in the deaths of two gang leaders identified as Kachalla Liti and Kachalla Sani.
“Reports from Tsarika village in Musawa LGA of Katsina State indicate that bandits engaged in a violent clash among themselves, leading to the deaths of two notorious gang leaders known as Kachalla Liti and Kachalla Sani,” the post read.
Residents reportedly described the incident as a significant setback for criminal groups operating around the Musawa/Matazu axis, which has witnessed repeated attacks in recent months.
Authorities have yet to issue an official statement on the incidents.
