A Magistrate Court sitting in Ogba, Lagos, has ordered the remand of controversial internet personality Ademola Abiodun, popularly known as DJ Chicken, at the Kirikiri Correctional Centre over an alleged death threat against Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu.

DJ Chicken was arraigned before Magistrate M.F. Onamusi on Thursday, July 10, on a three-count charge of alleged threat to kill, conduct likely to cause a breach of the peace, and offences under the Cybercrime (Prohibition, Prevention, etc.) Act, 2015.

According to the prosecution, the charges stem from a video posted online in which the defendant allegedly threatened Seyi Tinubu while commenting on the 2027 presidential election.

The prosecution told the court that the statements made in the video constituted an alleged threat to kill, contrary to the Criminal Law of Lagos State and the Cybercrime Act.

DJ Chicken pleaded not guilty to all three charges.

The court granted him bail in the sum of ₦1 million with two sureties in like sum. Magistrate Onamusi ruled that one surety must be a government employee, while the other must be a recognised community leader who owns landed property in Lagos State.

The court also directed that both sureties provide three years' tax clearance certificates, Lagos State Residents Registration Agency (LASRRA) identification, National Identification Number (NIN), and recent utility bills. In addition, one of the sureties must be a blood relative of the defendant.

Pending the fulfilment of the bail conditions, the court ordered that DJ Chicken be remanded at the Kirikiri Correctional Centre.

The matter was adjourned until August 3, 2026, for further proceedings.
