A Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered the immediate arrest of Prince Ademola Adeniyi, who claims to be the Director-General of the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC), after he failed to appear for his arraignment.

Justice Mohammed Umar issued a bench warrant on Tuesday following an oral application by police prosecutor Wisdom Madaki.

Adeniyi is facing an eight-count charge in suit No. FHC/ABJ/CR/562/2025 bordering on alleged forgery, fraud and impersonation. The case was scheduled for hearing at the Federal High Court in Maitama, Abuja.

Although the matter was listed for arraignment, the defendant was absent from court. A lawyer, Genesis Francis, announced his appearance on Adeniyi's behalf.

Addressing the court, the prosecution said the defendant had repeatedly failed to attend proceedings.

According to Madaki, Tuesday's hearing marked the fifth time the case had come up, with each previous adjournment resulting from the defendant's absence.

Relying on Section 394 of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act (ACJA) 2015, the prosecution asked the court to issue a bench warrant to compel Adeniyi's appearance.

Justice Umar granted the application and ordered the defendant's immediate arrest.
