The Board’s Director of Sharia, Sirajo Kamba, confirmed the incident in a statement on Tuesday.
He said residents alerted authorities around 12:15 a.m. on Monday after seeing a man enter the woman’s home under suspicious circumstances.
Officers were dispatched to the location shortly after the report. On arrival, they sought permission to conduct a search, which was initially declined by the homeowner.
Permission was later granted, leading to a search of the premises. During the operation, officers reportedly found the man concealed inside a “Ghana Must-Go” bag.
Preliminary questioning by the Hisbah authorities suggested a relationship between the two individuals. Both were said to have admitted to the allegation during interrogation.
The Board stated that the suspects are expected to face court proceedings under applicable Islamic legal provisions.
