Founder of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has said he does not expect the Peter Obi-Rabi’u Kwankwaso ticket to make significant progress in the 2027 presidential election.
Ayodele made the statement in a video shared on X while speaking to members of his church.
The cleric said the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), under which Obi and Kwankwaso are expected to contest, would have been better positioned if it had merged with the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to form a broader coalition.
Obi and Kwankwaso had earlier left the ADC for the NDC in May, citing disagreements within the party, including internal disputes and legal challenges.
Speaking on the development, Ayodele said the NDC would struggle as a standalone party ahead of the election.
“ You see the NDC party in Nigeria, assuming you can listen. Instead of you going as a solo party, you would have merged with the ADC and form a coalition.
“But you alone going solo, NDC is not in the calculation. They call it OK, but I’m not seeing anything okay. I do not see ‘OK’ (Obi and Kwankwaso) going anywhere in the 2027 presidential election,” he said.
